Week's Achievements: Washburn played a pivotal role on Eastern Michigan’s backline over the weekend, Oct. 20-23, leading the Eagles to a 1-0-1 record. Washburn fueled a EMU defense that secured a 1-1 draw in double overtime against Buffalo, Oct. 20, earning the Eagles a crucial point in the league standings. Then, on Sunday, Washburn and the Green and White stifled the Akron attack, holding the Zips to just five shots, en route to a 1-nil victory. The blanking of Akron marked the fifth shutout of the season by the Eagles’ defense, and pushed EMU’s unbeaten streak to six, the longest since Sept. 20-Oct.3, 2013.
