Senior Dante Lander was outstanding as the Eastern Michigan University men’s indoor track and field team got the New Year started with an appearance at the Wolverine Invitational, Jan. 7.

Lander led Eastern Michigan to two of the team’s 11 victories (more team/individual wins than any other participant, including the University of Michigan). After helping his team secure a victory in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:19.245, Lander took the stage for the 60m hurdles event. There, he cruised to a first place finish in just 8.37 seconds, the second-fastest time of any Eagle in that event this season. Although not his personal-best in the event, it marks the first win for Lander in any 60m hurdle event while at EMU.
