Zach Shuk Promoted to Soccer Assistant Coach

Shuk has been goalkeeping coach the past two seasons
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Zach Shuk has been promoted to Assistant Coach of the Eastern Michigan Soccer program, as announced by Head Coach Taylor Clarke Monday, March 9.
"I'm so excited for this opportunity and it is an honor to further my role within the Eastern Michigan program," Shuk said. "I can't speak highly enough of the people within the school and organization. Go Eagles!"
Shuk has been with the Eagles since the 2024 season, serving the prior two as the goalkeeping coach.
"Zach's commitment and dedication to our student-athletes and this program has been so important to our success over the last two years," Clarke said. "He brings energy and passion to our environment every day. We are very grateful for Zach and excited about this opportunity for him."
As goalkeeping coach, Shuk was instrumental in goalkeeper Ella Holland becoming one of the top net minders in the MAC in 2025. Holland led the MAC in saves (105), save percentage (.847) and saves per game (5.83) en route to being named All-MAC second team and MAC goalkeeper of the year twice, Sept. 23 and Oct. 21.
While coaching the goalkeepers, Shuk helped the Eagles achieve five shutouts on the season, including back-to-back shutouts against Buffalo and Toledo Sept. 18 and Sept. 21.
Under Shuk's guidance, Holland achieved one of the all-time greatest performances in MAC history with 20 saves at Kent State, Oct. 2, 2025.
Along with his role at EMU, Shuk served as an Assistant Goalkeeping Coach at Madonna University during the 2024 season, helping the Crusaders reach a 14-3-4 record and a spot in the NAIA National Tournament.
Before joining the coaching ranks, Shuk was a goalkeeper at Madonna University, playing five seasons. He was named to the Champions of Character Team in 2021, and WHAC All-Academic in 2022 before graduating in December 2023 with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Marketing.
