JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University sophomore Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) tallied a 36-hole tally of 152 (74-78) for 16th-place on the opening day of the Georgia State Invitational, March 28. Watson carded four birdies on the day at the par 72, 6,225-yard Rivermont Golf Club course. Eastern Kentucky's Ragga Kristinsdottir and Lipscomb's Lauren Thompson are tied atop the leaderboard after recording a two-over 146.
As a team, Eastern Michigan resides in 13th at the 16-team competition, posting a score of 633 (312-321). Leading the pack is EKU, which tallied a 603 (296-307), and is followed by Georgia State with a 606 (304-302).
How It Happened
Freshman Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) opened the tournament with an 81 before shaving off some strokes for a 78 and a two-round tally of 159 in 42nd. Classmate Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) added rounds of 81 and 82 for a 163 in a tie for 68th.
Sophomore Sophia Wygonik (Westland, Mich.-Livonia Franklin) is tied for 71st with a 165 (76-89), while junior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) notched a 167 (84-83) in a tie for 77th. Participating as an individual, sophomore Paige Zolciak (Perrysburg, Ohio-St. Ursula Academy) turned in rounds of 88 and 79 to sit in 77th with a day one score of 167.

Tuesday's second round is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The Eagles will be paired with Houston Baptist and Winthrop.
