Women’s Golf Signs Laura Gorgees Baeta for 2026-27

Spaniard will join the Eagles next season as a freshman
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Laura Gorgees Baeta has signed an Athletic Financial Aid Agreement (AFA) to continue her academic and athletic careers in Ypsilanti, Head Coach Josh Brewer announced today, Nov. 12. Gorgees Baeta, a native of Zaragoza, Spain, will join the Eagles ahead of the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
"We want to thank Laura, her family, and Blume National School for believing in what we are building at Eastern Michigan," Brewer said. "Laura fits the model of the young women we want to be a part of our program. She has shown the ability to compete at a high level throughout Spain and Europe while also striving in the classroom. We know her time at Blume is going to allow for a smooth transition to college golf in the fall of 2026."
Gorgees Baeta has competed throughout Spain in 2025, including 13 events with five finishes in the top 10. She posted a best of fourth-place at the Catalunya Women's Cup while adding two fifth-place showings, including the Sergio Garcia Junior Championship. She also has competed at several pro-level events in Spain throughout her career, most recently taking part in the Calatayud Ladies Open. Throughout her career, she has found success at the state level in Spain as she has captured titles at the U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18 levels.

Added fifth-place showings at both the Sergio Garcia Junior Championship and the Campeonato de Puerta de Hierro Individual Femenino... Finished sixth at the Gran Prix de Lleida Ponent as well...
