Final Results

MILLBRAE, Calif. (EMUEagles.com) – Baiyok Sukterm won her first individual crown as a member of the Eastern Michigan University women's golf program with her wire-to-wire performance leading the Eagles to the team crown at the Silicon Valley Showcase that was played at Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, Calif., March 30-31. The individual and team wins marked the third time this season the Eagles won the double after claiming the team titles at The Southern (Sept. 8-9) and the Leadership & Golf Invitational (Sept. 15-16) with Janae Leovao winning medalist honors at both.

As a team, the No. 29 Eagles shot 8-over 860 (279-293-288) on the par-71, 6,084-yard course to win the title by one stroke over the No. 50 University of California, who finished second at 9-over 861. Eastern, who posted the second-best 54-hole team score in program history, opened with a school-record 279 to push the Eagles to the top of the standings that saw No. 34 Kansas State University round out the top three teams at 26-over 878.

Sukterm (Bang Yi, Thailand/Panitchayakan Rajdamnern Tech/Lindsey Wilson) led the tournament from start to finish as she jumped out to a five-stroke lead following back-to-back rounds of 68 before closing in 74 to shoot 3-over 210 and win the title by one stroke. The win is Sukterm's first as a member of the program and marked the third different level of competition she has won after securing six titles with Barton Community College (NJCAA) in 2023-24 and six more with Lindsey Wilson University (NAIA) last year. The 18th different EMU player to secure medalist honors and the 28th crown won, Sukterm, ranked No. 155 ahead of the event, posted the fifth-lowest score in program history while the 68 she shot in the opening two rounds tied for the ninth-best in EMU history.

Janae Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State), who has twice won this year, tied for fourth place at 2-over 215 (70-73-72) as she tied for the 17th-lowest score in program history. She also posted her sixth top 20 showing of the season and her fourth among the top four. Her sister, Jasmine Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State), opened the tournament with a 67, which tied for the lowest round in the history of the tournament and third-best in program history. She finished at 6-over 219 (67-77-75) to post her seventh top 20 finish in eight tournaments this year.

Savannah de Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) contributed a strong closing round of 72, finishing tied for 16th at 8-over 221. Mariana Vega (Barranquilla, Colombia/Colegio Karl C. Parrish) surged on the final day with a 70, her best score of the tournament, while Erina Tan (Belmont, Western Australia/Mount Lawley Senior) delivered a tournament-best par-5 scoring average in a challenging week.

Team Notes
» Eastern captured its third team title of the season after opening the year by winning The Southern (Sept. 8-9) and the Leadership & Golf Invitational (Sept. 15-16) in back-to-back weeks. The three wins this year tie for the second-highest total in a single season in program history (2021-22, 2019-20, 2011-12, and 2006-07) and sits one behind the four titles won by the 2007-08 squad.
» The Eagles posted a double win (team and individual) for the 12th time in program history and the third time this year after Janae Leovao won the first two tournaments in September. The three doubles are the most in a single season in program history behind the 1999-00 and 2007-08 seasons.
» The 860 strokes for the Eagles ranked as the fourth-lowest team score in the tournament's four-year history with only Pepperdine (854) in 2025, Kansas State (855) in 2025, and Pepperdine (857) in 2024. Additionally, the opening-round 279 Eastern recorded tied for the third-best in tournament history with Kansas State (2025) and only the 278 strokes tallied by both Stanford (2023) and Pepperdine (2025) ahead of the Eagles.
» The win by Eastern marked the first time in the tournament's four years that a team and an individual not from Pepperdine captured the title. The Waves shared the title in 2023 with Stanford before winning the past two outright while an individual Pepperdine player had captured medalist honors each of the last three tournaments.
» On a program level, the 860 strokes recorded by Eastern is the second-lowest in program history, bettered only by the 859 shot at the Leadership & Golf Invitational earlier this season (Sept. 15-16). The 860 marked the fifth time this season Eastern finished with a score of 869 or lower after having not broken 880 before Josh Brewer's arrival ahead of the 2024-25 season.
» Eastern posted two rounds that rank among the top 20 all-time in program history with the 279 fired in the first round breaking the program record of 281 (round three of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Oct. 22, 2025) while marking the fifth time the school record has fallen since Josh Brewer was named head coach ahead of last season. The 288 recorded in the final round tied for 15th all-time.

Individual Notes
» Baiyok Sukterm became the 18th different player in program history to earn medalist honors while capturing the 28th individual title in program history. Sukterm shot 3-under 210 to post the fifth-lowest score in program history while her rounds of 68 in both the first and second round tied for the ninth lowest. Additionally, her 210 tied for the fourth-lowest score in the four-year history of the tournament.
» Baiyok Sukterm captured the 13th collegiate title of her career and her first at the NCAA Division I level, marking the third different level she has been victorious. She opened her career at Barton Community College and won six titles while playing for the NJCAA Division I program before winning six times last year at Lindsey Wilson of the NAIA. Prior to her win with the Eagles, her best finish this year was a tie for second place at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate (Oct. 6-7), an event that was shortened to two rounds because of rain.
» Baiyok Sukterm joined Janae Leovao as a tournament winner this season after Leovao won the first two events of the season (The Southern and the Leadership & Golf Invitational). Their collective titles marked just the second time in program history that three individual crowns were secured, joining the 2007-08 team that saw Stephany Fleet win twice (Wolverine Invitational and the EKU Spring Invitational) and Catherine Fortin win once (Red Rocks Invitational).
» Janae Leovao tied for fourth overall at 2-over 215, which tied for the 17th-lowest score in program history. She has tallied six finishes in the top 20 this season in eight tournaments played while finishing in the top four on four occasions.
» Jasmine Leovao shot 6-over 219 to tie for 13th overall, her seventh top 20 showing in eight events this season. She opened the tournament with a first-round 67, which tied for the third-best in program history while tying for the lowest in the four-year history of the tournament.
» Savannah de Bock tied for 16th at 8-over 221 to post her sixth top 20 finish of the year.
» Mariana Vega carded a final-round 2-under 70, making her the only player on the team to break par. Her score counted toward the team's 288 that helped secure the tournament title. The tournament was Vega's first since the Rainbow Wahine Invitational (Oct. 20-22, 2025) where she also shot a closing-round 70.

Up Next
