FRISCO, Texas (EMUEagles.com) – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its 2025-26 WGCA All-American Scholar list today, July 13, with two members of the Eastern Michigan University program earning recognition after both met the standards for competitive and athletic success. Baiyok Sukterm and Matilde Zocchi were among the 1,552 women's collegiate golfers honored this year.

The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
- Hold an overall cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher
- Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and
- Have played in 50-percent of the team's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the season (up to and including the conference championship event).

Sukterm (Bang Yi, Thailand/Panitchayakan Rajdamnern Tech/Lindsey Wilson) and Zocchi (Turin, Italy/Liceo Vittoria) represent the 30th and 31st members of the program, respectively, to be named to the WGCA All-American Scholar list since 2007 with the program having now secured 66 total accolades. With the awards, Eastern has landed multiple names on the list for the first time since 2023 when four individuals were honored.

Sukterm was instrumental in the team's success throughout the season as the Mid-American Conference First-Team honoree tied for sixth at the conference meet before tying for 14th at the NCAA Championships as the Eagles advanced to match play after qualifying for the national tournament for the first time in program history. The first-year Eagle captured seven top 10 finishes on the year, including winning the Silicon Valley Showcase (March 30-31) while taking runner-up honors at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate (Oct. 6-7). She finished the year with a 72.0 stroke average that ranked third all-time on the program's single-season list.

Zocchi, the 2025-26 Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year, posted one top 20 showing during the season as she tied for 20th in her collegiate debut at The Southern (Sept. 8-9). A three-time top 25 placer for the Eagles, the freshman from Italy averaged 76.2 strokes per round and posted 31 birdies in her rookie season.
