CHIP INS
» The initial Scoreboard/Clippd rankings were released Oct. 15 with the Eagles ranked No. 35, their highest ever. The previous best was the No. 122 rankings earned in the final rankings of the 2024-25 season.
» Individually, four Eagles are ranked among the top 200 nationally, including No. 41 Janae Leovao, No. 98 Savannah de Bock, No. 168 Baiyok Sukterm, and No. 170 Jasmine Leovao.
» Seven Eagles are set to compete in Hawai'i with freshmen Ammy Raemmuang and Grace Thanintorndamrongdej set to make their collegiate debuts as individual competitors.
» Savannah de Bock competed in the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships in Singapore, Oct. 1-4, where she led Belgium to a tie for 26th in the 36-team international competition. She finished tied for 46th individually at 5-over 293 (75-73-71-74) and was the top scorer for Belgium all four rounds.
» Eastern captured the title at the Leadership & Golf Invitational (Sept. 15-16), the 30th crown in program history, and, coupled with the title won at The Southern (Sept. 8-9), secured back-to-back crowns for the fifth time in program history. It also marked only the second time EMU has won consecutive 54-hole tournaments.
» Josh Brewer has now won 18 titles as a head coach after securing 16 with Georgia and the past two with EMU.
» The team broke the school record with a score of 859, surpassing the previous low of 871 set last year at the Gators Invitational (March 7-8, 2025). It also reset the low score for tournaments played at par-72 events after the team shot 875 one week earlier at The Southern.
» Janae Leovao won the individual title for the second week in a row to become the first Eagle to win back-to-back titles in program history. She is the first EMU player since Stephany Fleet (2007-08) to win multiple titles in the same season.
» Janae Leovao is one win away from tying and setting a program record. With another win this season, she would become the fourth Eagle to win three tournaments in a single career while also becoming the first to win three titles in the same season.
» Janae Leovao was named the MAC Golfer of the Week (Sept. 19). She earned the honor in a vote of the conference's golf coaches.
» The Division I Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll was released Sept. 26 with the Eagles receiving 14 votes. It marked the second consecutive week the Eagles appeared in the listing after earning three votes in the Sept. 5 rankings, the program's first votes received in the poll.
» The 2025-26 roster features 11 players, including five returners in Savannah de Bock, Julianna Go, Angelica Holman, Erina Tan, and Mariana Vega are all back for the Eagles this season. The program also added six newcomers, including three transfers and three freshmen.
» Eastern was No. 122 in the final Scoreboard/Clippd rankings of 2024-25 with Savannah de Bock leading the way at No. 175 individually. This year's team has added three transfers that should help that ranking rise as Jasmine Leovao (No. 97) and Janae Leovao (No. 148) both were among the top 150 at Long Beach State while Baiyok Sukterm was the No. 1 player in the NAIA.
» The Eagles were busy over the summer playing in numerous events. One the biggest events was the 2025 European Ladies' Team Championship where Caterina Don and Italy placed seventh and Savannah de Bock and Belgium finished ninth by winning the Flight B competition.

FEELING HONORED
Baiyok Sukterm was named the MAC Golfer of the Week (Oct. 10) after she battled the rain and a tough field in Hutchinson, Kan., to tie for second place as she shot 3-over 143 (71-72), the third-lowest 36-hole score in program history, while leading the team to a tie for second place that saw the Eagles finish ahead of both No. 25 Baylor (fourth) and No. 12 Oklahoma State (fifth). Sukterm came out strong and shot 1-over 71 despite a 4:45 lightning delay to post the third-best score in the field in the opening round before closing in 72, the ninth-best score of the day. All told, Sukterm played in her 10th career 36-hole tournament and finished in the top two for the 10th time after she won six times and was runner-up three times with Barton CC as a freshman in 2023-24. Overall, Sukterm finished ahead of five players that were ranked in the top 100 of the final Scoreboard/Clippd rankings for 2024-25, including two that finished among the top 30 of stroke play at the 2025 NCAA Championships.

The No. 35 ranking for the team marks the highest it has received in the three seasons of the Scoreboard/Clippd rankings, surpassing the No. 122 ranking attained in the final rankings of the 2024-25 season. It also is the highest ranking the program the team has ever received after not cracking the top 80 previously.

FOUR EAGLES IN THE TOP 200
The first rankings of the season also included individual marks with four members of the EMU squad finding their names among the top 175. Janae Leovao opened at No. 41, her highest ranking ever, was joined by No. 98 Savannah de Bock, No. 168 Baiyok Sukterm, and No. 170 Jasmine Leovao. Both Leovao sisters and de Bock have been ranked at the NCAA Division I level in previous season while Sukterm, the No. 1-ranked player in NAIA last year, earned her first NCAA Division I ranking.

FOR THREE?
Janae Leovao has played in two tournaments for the Eagles and won both individual titles as she was the medalist at The Southern and the Leadership & Golf Invitational events earlier this year. Leovao is on the cusp of more history with the Eagles as another victory this season would make her the first player in program history to record three wins in the same season while becoming only the fourth Eagle to win three titles in a career in Ypsilanti. Stephanie Smoot was the first to three wins with titles in 1998, 1999, and 2000 before Catherine Fortin added wins in 2006, 2007, and 2008. Stephany Fleet was the most recent winner of three titles as she won once in 2006-07 before taking two in the 2007-08 season.

REVIEW: OKLAHOMA INTERCOLLEGIATE
Despite rainy conditions and a long weather delay, EMU finished second against a strong field of teams at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan., Oct. 6-7. The tournament, which saw teams sit through a nearly five-hour weather delay on the first day of play, was shortened to 36 holes.

In the team race, Eastern (298-282) and Kansas State tied for runner-up honors at 20-over 580 while No. 14 Florida win the event in 13-over 573. The Eagles finished ahead of two ranked teams, including No. 25 Baylor, who was fourth at 24-over 584, and No. 12 Oklahoma State, who was fifth at 26-over 586.

Eastern saw three of its players finish in the top four with Baiyok Sukterm leading the way at 3-over 143 (71-72) to tie for second. Jasmine Leovao and Mariana Vega both tied for fourth place at 4-over 144.

GOING RED AT RED SKY
Savannah de Bock has played in the Golfweek Red Sky Classic twice with the Eagles and posted the No. 1 and No. 2 individual scores in program history. Last year, she set the school record at 204 (70-65-69) before coming back this year to shoot 207 (71-67-69). She is 21-under combined in the two tournaments and placed in the top five in both events after winning the title last year and tying for fifth this season.

INTERNATIONAL DUTY
Savannah de Bock competed in the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships in Singapore (Oct. 1-4) where she helped Belgium to a tie for 26th in the 36-team international field. Playing with two fellow countrywomen in the 31st tournament for the Espirito Santo Trophy, Belgium finished 17-over 593 to tie with both Chile and Chinese Taipei as the United States won a three-way tie at 18-under 558 with Korea and Spain. Individually, de Bock finished tied for 46th at 5-over 293 (75-73-71-74) and was the top player for her nation in all four rounds.

TAKING IT BACK(-2-BACK)
The win in Washington was the 30th all-time for the Eagles and, coupled with the win at The Southern (Sept. 8-9) gave the Eagles back-to-back titles for the fifth time in program history and the first time since the 2021-22 season when they won the Golden Grizzly Invitational in Rochester, Mich. (Sept. 26-27, 2021) and the Shirley Spork Invitational at home (Oct. 4-5, 2021). Additionally, Eastern won back-to-back 54-hole tournaments for just the second time with the only other instance coming during the 2019-20 season. That year, the Eagles won titles at the Shirley Spork Invitational at home (Sept. 30-Oct. 1, 2019) and the MAC Fall Preview in Silver Lakes, Ohio (Oct. 7-8, 2019).

MORE WINS BREWER-ING
Eastern Michigan has now won twice under Josh Brewer, who has now won 18 tournaments in his coaching career after securing 16 during his 12-year tenure at Georgia. The wins also marked the first for a Brewer-led team since the Bulldogs won the 2023 NCAA Athens Regional in Athens, Ga., the team's third NCAA regional title.

TWINNING
Janae Leovao shot 7-under 209 to win the Leadership & Golf Invitational (Sept. 15-16) that included rounds of 68 and 69 to close out win. She won her second consecutive tournament after finishing no higher than second place four times in her prior 35 tournaments. Her win made her the seventh different EMU player to record multiple wins in a career and the first to win multiple times in the same season since Stephany Fleet won twice in 2007-08. She also became the first EMU player to win back-to-back titles in program history and, coupled with teammate Angelica Holman's win at the Women's National Golf Invitational that closed out the 2024-25 season, EMU has now won three consecutive individual tournament titles for the first time in program history.

FEELING HONORED
Following her victory at the Leadership & Golf Invitational, the conference coaches voted Janae Leovao the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week, Sept. 19. It marked her first weekly award with the Eagles and the first this year for an EMU player.
