Jasmine Leovao Earns MAC Golfer of the Week Accolade

Senior took second place at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational with a career-best 210 (-6)
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University senior Jasmine Leovao has been named the MAC Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced today, Oct. 24, after taking runner-up honors at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational earlier this week.
Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State) closed out her fall schedule by taking second in the 19-team Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Hawai'i, shooting 210 (-6), which also tied for the fifth-best score in program history. Ranked No. 108 in the latest Scoreboard/Clippd listing, she finished ahead of seven players ranked higher on the list while posting her best individual finish of the season and her third top-4 showing of the year. Leovao, who climbed five positions in the final round to defeat 111 competitors, shot an opening round 68 and a final round 69 to give her a team-leading three rounds in the 60s this season while tying for the 17th and seventh lowest rounds in program history, respectively. Overall, her play helped the Eagles earn their fourth finish in the top five this fall in five events played.
The honor is the third earned by an EMU player in their five competitions with Leovao joining her twin sister, Janae Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State), on the list along with Baiyok Sukterm (Bang Yi, Thailand/Panitchayakan Rajdamnern Tech/Lindsey Wilson). Janae led the way by earning the honor Sept. 19 after winning her second consecutive individual tournament title while Sukterm was honored Oct. 10 after tying for second in the highly competitive Oklahoma Intercollegiate.
Eastern has finished its fall schedule and will return to action in 2026 when it plays host to the Estrella del Mar Invitational, Feb. 8-9, at the Estrella del Mar Golf and Country Club in Mazatlán, Mexico.
