Senior thrower Kadian Clarke had another strong weekend, highlighted by a school-record hammer throw mark of 60.77m at the Jesse Owens Classic, April 22. The 60.77-meter effort was the furthest toss by a collegiate thrower at the meet and nearly two meters greater than her previous best of 58.87m, set at last year’s outdoor Mid-American Conference Championships, May 7. The veteran thrower is the only Eagle in team history to surpass 60 meters and is currently one of two student-athletes in the MAC to do it. Clarke also finished runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 15.11m. After this weekend, the Kingston, Jamaica native owns NCAA qualifying marks in two events: hammer throw (24th – 60.77m) and shot put (T-37th – 15.63m).
