Eastern Michigan sophomore sprinter Tiffany Cernej-Garcia won both events in which she competed at the GVSU Holiday Open Friday, Dec. 6. The Ann Arbor, Mich. native captured both of her victories in convincing fashion, as she clinched the 400m title with a personal-best time of 45.88 seconds, before anchoring the 4x400-meter relay team that clocked in at 3:47.69. Cernej-Garcia was a member of two 4x400 relay champions last season, as the Eagles won the event at the Can-Am International at Bob Parks Track inside Bowen Field House, Jan. 26, 2019, before winning the same event a week later at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., Feb. 1-2.
