Eastern Michigan University senior defensive back Brody Hoying (Coldwater, Ohio-Coldwater) was outstanding for the Green and White once again versus Kentucky, Sept. 7. The Coldwater, Ohio native showed his ability to tackle in the open field, racking up nine total tackles and a half sack. For his efforts, he was selected the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 8.
A senior, Hoying leads the squad in tackles-for-loss (2.5), and ranks fourth in total tackles this season. The two-time All-MAC defensive selection is on pace to amass 200-plus total tackles during his time at EMU, a feat that only 84 players have accomplished in the history of the program (185 total tackles to date). Additionally, Hoying is on pace to rank inside the top-five in career games played at EMU (38 games played to date).
