DEKALB, Ill. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University will travel to Mid-American Conference opponent Northern Illinois University, Sunday, Jan. 28, for a triangular including the Huskies and the Central Michigan University Chippewas.

FOLLOWING THE MEET: Fans can follow the meet through live results or watch the livestream on ESPN+. Links can be found on the EMU gymnastics schedule page located on EMUEagles.com.

KEY EAGLE: Awarded after every contest, the Eastern Michigan gymnastics coaches choose one gymnast to anoint as that meet's Key Eagle. Junior Ella Chemotti earned the honor after the meet with UW-Stout, Jan. 21. In that meet, Chemotti placed first on beam with a 9.850 and tied her previous career best on floor with a 9.850.

WINNING AT HOME: EMU competed against UW-Stout Sunday, Jan. 21, inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center. The Eagles finished with a 195.325 team score, securing their first win of the season, as well as their highest score of the 2024 campaign.

FABULOUS ON FLOOR: The Eagles thrived on floor in the meet against UW-Stout, Jan. 21, with all six competitors either tying or beating their career highs on the event. Raisa Boris placed first overall in the event with a score of 9.900. Abby Brushwood and Ella Chemotti were right behind Boris, tying for second place with a 9.850.
The team also achieved their highest floor score of the season with a 49.200. This score is just shy of the top 10 highest floor scores in program history. The No. 10 program floor score occurred Mar. 3, 2023, at the EMU Triangular where the team earned a 49.250.

CAREER HIGHS: The meet, Sunday, Jan. 21, saw eight Eagles tying or beating their career highs in three of the four events. Brooke Maycroft achieved multiple career highs, securing them on both beam, with a 9.750, and floor, with a 9.725.

EAGLES STAY ON TOP: Two Eagles have consistently landed on top of the leaderboard in two events. Raisa Boris has placed first on floor at three of the four meets, while Ella Chemotti has placed first on beam at three of the four meets, as well. The only meet the two did not achieve first place in was the duel against Minnesota on Jan. 13.

STICKING IT ON VAULT: The Green and White were also successful on vault against UW-Stout. Two Eagles tied their career highs on the apparatus; Jacquelyn Patterson with a 9.750 and Gwendelyn Cantu with a 9.725. Genae Daniel also earned the top spot in the event with a 9.800. This was the freshman's first time on top of the leaderboard for this event.
