Kyrie Lowe Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

Senior earns weekly honor after posting a career best on beam and in the all-around while finishing first on beam during the weekend competition
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Senior Kyrie Lowe has been named Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, March 17. Lowe becomes the first Eastern Michigan gymnast to earn the weekly honor this season after posting two career best all-around scores to lead the Eagles, highlighted by a 9.900 on beam, the first routine by an Eastern gymnast to reach the 9.900 mark this season. Lowe also earned 2026 All-MAC Second Team honors in the all around with a 39.000 average.
Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) led Eastern across both meets with strong performances on every event. On Friday, March 13, against No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 9 Michigan, Lowe recorded a career best 39.175 in the all-around. She tied for third on bars with a 9.850 while adding a 9.800 on beam, a 9.800 on floor, and a 9.725 on vault as Eastern posted its third highest team score of the season with a 195.025.
Two days later, Sunday, March 15, against Kent State, Lowe topped her previous career best with a 39.200 in the all-around. The performance included a career best 9.900 on beam as the Eagles recorded their highest beam score of the season with a 49.000. The mark also stood as the highest beam score recorded by a senior in the MAC during the weekend.
Lowe also led Eastern on bars with a 9.875 to place second overall while adding a 9.725 on vault and a 9.700 on floor.
Eastern Michigan returns to action Saturday, March 21, at the Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Bowling Green at the Stroh Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
