Eight gymnasts earned or tied for career bests on three of the four events.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -
 The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team competed against the University of Wisconsin-Stout Sunday, Jan. 21, at the George Gervin GameAbove Center. The Eagles finished with a 195.325 team score securing their first win of the season, as well as their highest score of the 2024 campaign, so far.  
 
Eight gymnasts earned or tied for career bests on three of the four events. Additionally, Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center) was named the all-around gymnast of the event with a 39.250. 
 
How It Happened
The Eagles began their second home meet on vault where the team earned a 48.800. The Eagles were led by Genae Daniel (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) who posted a 9.800 to take first place in the event. Eastern Michigan also had two gymnasts earn career high scores, Jacquelyn Patterson (Mason, Ohio/Mason) with a 9.750 and Gwendelyn Cantu (Joilet, Ill./Providence Catholic) with a 9.725.
 
On Eastern's second rotation, the Eagles scored 48.600 on bars. Raisa Boris and Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) tied for first, both scoring a 9.775. 
 
EMU's third rotation took the team to the beam where the Eagles grabbed a 48.725 event score, an improvement from their previous meet against Central Michigan University. 
Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich./Canton) earned first place overall on the apparatus where she scored a 9.850. Chemotti has placed first on the beam at three of the four meets this season. Another Eagle earned a career high on the apparatus as Brooke Maycroft (Coopersville, Mich./Coopersville) grabbed a 9.750, placing third in the event. 
 
Eastern Michigan finished the meet on floor with a season-high 49.200. All six Eagles that performed either posted or tied their career-high scores on the apparatus. Raisa Boris placed first overall in the event with a score of 9.900. Abby Brushwood (State College, Pa./State College Arena) and Ella Chemotti were right behind Boris tying for second place with a 9.850.
