The Eagles will run in the Adidas Notre Dame Invitational this Friday, Sept. 30
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's cross country team will be heading to the Adidas Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational this Friday, Sept. 30 in South Bend, Ind.
A challenging lineup should provide solid competition for the Green and White and help prepare the Eagles for the Mid-American Conference Championships this fall.
EMU will race in the Blue Division, which will feature a handful of squads ranked in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I National Poll. Slated to participate this Friday are Air Force, Auburn, Baylor, Butler, No. 14 BYU, Clemson, Eastern Kentucky, No. 10 Florida State, Fresno State, Georgia, Indiana State, Missouri, No. 21 New Mexico, No. 23 Notre Dame, No. 25 Ohio State, Penn State, No. 12 Princeton, Santa Clara, No. 3 Stanford, Texas A&M, UCLA, UTEP, Utah State, Washington State, and Weber State.
EMU dominated the 16-team Gold Division at the invitational last season, collaborating for 47 points for a first place team finish. Terefe Ejigu (Wellington Cook, New Zealand-Wellington College) paced the Eagles with his second place, 24:52 performance.
This weekend's five-mile race will take place at the Notre Dame Golf Course. Race time is set for 5 p.m.
