Cross Country Set for Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute Friday

The men begin at 10:40 a.m., followed by the women at 11:20 a.m.
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's men's and women's cross country programs head to Terre Haute, Ind., Friday, Oct. 16, for the Pre-National Invitational, hosted by Indiana State, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course — the same course that will host the 2026 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in November.
The men will compete in the Blue 8k at 10:40 a.m., while the women will compete in the White 6k at 11:20 a.m. Links to watch and live results can be accessed on our schedule page here.

Eastern Michigan made its most recent appearance Oct. 2 at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. The women's program finished fifth in the team standings, paced by Mercy Chepkemoi (Molo, Kenya/Kaplelach Secondary School), who crossed 11th overall in 17:33.71. The men's squad placed 10th, with Kian Wiles (Hull, England/St. Mary's College) leading the way with a 32nd-place finish in 24:00.8.
Ten Eagles recorded personal best times on the day. Wiles, Mohammed Mohammed (Cary, N.C./Green Level) and Carson McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Deer Lakes) turned in personal bests for the men, while Chepkemoi, Christiana Coleman (Pompano Beach, Fla./Dillard/Florida), Mara Longenecker (Freeland, Mich./Freeland/Michigan), Sophie Emin (Easton, Pa./Easton Area/Rutgers), Kaiya Fujioka (Whitby, Ontario/Brooklin), Frankie Moore (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills) and Kaelyn Becken (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) each posted personal bests on the women's side.
