Jeff Fischer led Eastern Michigan University to a 10-3 victory over MAC-West leading Central Michigan this week. In the game, Fischer pitched 8 2/3 innings, allowing runs on 4 hits, walking 2 and striking out 7. Fischer took a shutout into the 9th inning, and the game was much closer than the final score indicated, as EMU held a 1-0 lead entering the 7th inning. Fischer's 8th win of the year came against the top-hitting team in the conference, moving EMU into a temporary tie for the MAC-West Division lead.
