Quarterback Andy Schmitt completed 20 of 27 passes for 129 yards, 1 touchdown and no interceptions in EMU’s 24-17 overtime loss to Central Michigan. On the ground, Schmitt was the game’s leading rusher, with 23 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown. Schmitt led EMU on a game-tying drive in the final minute of the 4th quarter, capping off the drive with a 4-yard touchdown pass with just 13 seconds remaining. On the play, Schmitt suffered a broken jaw, yet was able to complete the game-tying touchdown pass. Schmitt was unable to play in overtime due to the injury to his face.
