A familiar face around the Eastern Michigan University women’s golf program, Courtney Aili returns to the team to serve as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2009-10 season.
Aili was a four-year letterwinner for EMU from 2005-2009. For her career, she recorded 97 rounds of golf, with a scoring average of 79.5 and five top-five finishes.
As a senior, Aili averaged 78.3 strokes per round, good for 13th best in the Mid-American Conference. She turned in a runner-up showing at the Zippy Invitational with a total of 230 (76-75-79) and finished eighth at the EKU Invitational with a 231 (80-72-79).
Aili posted a record of 563-206 as a senior and was 1638-1050 in her four-year career.
During her junior campaign, Aili competed in all 10 events, inclduing finished tied for sixth at the NIU Brickyard Invitational (Sept. 10-11). In her highest showing of the season she finished fourth at the Shootout at the Legends (Oct. 8-9), where she shot her season low round of 73. She also won the City of Ann Arbor Women’s Golf Championship (June 24, 2008) by shooting back-to-back rounds of 74.
A native of Chelsea, Mich., Aili was a four-year varsity golf team member in high school. She qualified for two states finals and was votes team MVP as a senior.
