YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University women's soccer returns to Scicluna Field Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m., to host the University of Toledo in a MAC showdown with postseason positioning on the line for both programs.

Saturday's match against Toledo will be streamed on ESPN+. Live stats will be available at https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=664364.

» Eastern Michigan enters Saturday 6-4-4 overall and 4-3-1 in MAC play with 13 points, sitting third in the conference standings.

» The Eagles have lost three straight, falling to Miami (1-3), Western Michigan (1-3) and Ohio (0-1) since Oct. 11.

» Olivia Sipsock scored her 20th career goal Oct. 15 against Western Michigan, moving into a tie for 10th in program history; goalkeeper Ella Holland has 301 career saves and 22 career shutouts.

» Annalyse Bauer and Rosalie Takacsy were both named MAC Soccer Players of the Week on Oct. 6.

» Toledo enters Saturday 5-5-5 overall and 1-3-4 in MAC play with 7 points, and is winless in its last seven matches (0-3-4) dating to Sept. 20.

» Eastern Michigan leads the all-time series 16-16-3; the Eagles hold a 12-4-3 record in home matches at Scicluna Field and won the last meeting 1-0 on Sept. 21, 2025.

THREE-GAME LOSING STREAK: Eastern Michigan enters Saturday having dropped three consecutive matches for the first time since September 2024. The skid began Oct. 11 with a 1-3 home loss to Miami, continued Oct. 15 with a 1-3 defeat to Western Michigan, and extended to a 0-1 loss at Ohio on Oct. 18 — the Eagles' first shutout in seven matches. Eastern has conceded seven goals during the streak while scoring just twice. The slide follows a nine-game unbeaten run that tied a program record earlier this season.

MAC TOURNAMENT PICTURE: With 13 points and a 4-3-1 conference record, the Eagles control their own postseason fate heading into the final three MAC matches of the regular season. Eastern Michigan occupied third place in the MAC standings as recently as mid-October. Three matches remain — Toledo, Akron and Massachusetts — before the MAC Tournament opens Nov. 7 in Columbus, Ohio.

BAUER AND TAKACSY HONORED: The Green and White earned a pair of MAC weekly honors earlier this month when freshman midfielder Annalyse Bauer (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) and senior defender Rosalie Takacsy (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) were both named MAC Soccer Players of the Week on Oct. 6.

SIPSOCK'S MILESTONE: Senior forward Olivia Sipsock (Medina, Ohio/Medina) reached 20 career goals Oct. 15 against Western Michigan, moving into a tie for 10th in program history. Sipsock needs one more goal to take sole possession of ninth place all-time and is four points shy of entering the program's top 10 for career points. She led Eastern with four shots in the most recent match at Ohio.

HOLLAND APPROACHING PROGRAM RECORDS: Redshirt senior goalkeeper Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) has 299 career saves and 22 career shutouts at Eastern Michigan. Holland needs two more shutouts to tie Sarah Willis for the program record of 24 career shutouts, and 11 more saves to tie for fourth on the program's all-time saves list. She has made 50 consecutive starts and has logged more than 4,500 consecutive minutes in goal.

TOLEDO'S FORM: The Rockets arrive in Ypsilanti on a seven-match winless run (0-3-4) that began with a scoreless draw at Buffalo on Sept. 20. The stretch includes three losses — to Western Michigan (0-3), Akron (0-1) and Ball State (0-1) — and four draws, with Toledo finding the net in back-to-back 1-1 ties against Central Michigan and Bowling Green before being shut out in a 0-1 home loss to Ball State on Oct. 18. Toledo holds 7 points in MAC play with a 1-3-4 conference record.

ROCKETS TO WATCH: Toledo's offense is led by sophomore forward Ella Zoerhoff, who has recorded eight goals and three assists through 15 matches this season. Junior forward/midfielder Morgan Spitler scored the equalizing goal in the Rockets' 1-1 draw at Bowling Green on Oct. 15. In goal, fifth-year goalkeeper Grace Konopatzki has appeared in all 15 matches, recording six shutouts and an .808 save percentage.

THE SERIES:

The all-time series between Eastern Michigan and Toledo is tied at 16-16-3 across 35 meetings dating to 1995, with the Eagles holding a 12-4-3 advantage in home matches at Scicluna Field. The most recent meeting took place Sept. 21, 2025, with Eastern Michigan winning 1-0 at Toledo behind a Kaylee Synk goal — assisted by Cameryn Susey and Sipsock — and a three-save shutout by Holland, which also stands as the Eagles' last win in the series. Over the last three seasons, Eastern is 1-1-1 against Toledo.

KEYS TO THE GAME:

Eastern Michigan will look to rediscover its offensive form after scoring just twice in its last three matches and being shut out at Ohio. The Eagles generated 13 shots against Ohio but could not convert, and will need to find the net against a Toledo side that has allowed just 16 goals on the season and features a goalkeeper with a .808 save percentage. Defensively, the Green and White must limit Toledo's second-half surge — the Rockets recorded all seven of their shots in the second half against Ball State — while protecting against Zoerhoff, who leads the Rockets with eight goals. A result Saturday would also require the Eagles to tighten up at the back after conceding seven goals across their three-match skid.

OUTLOOK:

A win Saturday would push Eastern Michigan's MAC record to 5-3-1 and add three critical points to the Eagles' postseason case as the regular season winds down. Toledo, meanwhile, needs results in its final three matches to remain in contention for a MAC Tournament berth, making this a high-stakes contest for both sides heading into the final weeks of the regular season.
