Track & Field Earns 26 Academic All-MAC Nods in Outdoor Season

The women’s squad received 15 and the men secured 11
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University track and field programs landed 26 student-athletes on the Mid-American Conference's Academic All-MAC list for the 2025 outdoor season, the conference office announced Friday, June 27.
The women's team saw 15 student-athletes earn the award while 11 members of the men's squad made the list. 238 total student-athletes garnered the honor conference-wide.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
For the women, Kent State and Miami topped this year's list with 20 student-athletes earning recognition. Bowling Green followed with 19 selections, while Central Michigan placed 18 on the prestigious academic squad.
Earning the honor from the women's team is Sophie Emin (Easton, Pa./Easton Area/Rutgers), Kiera Hansen (Freeland, Mich./Freeland), Chloie Musta (Mesick, Mich./Cadillac), Mariia Yelanska (Dnipro, Ukraine), Anita Zaro (Timisoara, Romania/Faculty of Physical Education and Sport), Isabella Brent (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child), Kyra Buffen (Columbus, Ga./Buford/Benedict), Natalie Buratczuk (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles North), Tijana Japundzic (Belgrade, Serbia/Technical School "New Belgrade"), Aleah Johnson (Botkins, Ohio/Botkins), Eva Orlich (San José, Costa Rica/IEM Bilingual), Megan Rybitski (Dayton, Ohio/Wayne), Julia Sabo (Luckey, Ohio/Eastwood), Maleah Scott (Farmington, Minn./Farmington), and Saraiah Walkes (Manatee County, Fla./The-Out-of-Door-Academy).
On the men's side, Miami topped this year's list with 19 student-athletes earning recognition. Kent State followed with 18 selections, while Eastern Michigan placed 11 on the prestigious academic squad.
Earning the nod for the Eastern men is Ronan Codyre (Auckland, New Zealand/Maclean's College), Lachlan Cornelius (Brisbane, Australia/Anglican Church Grammar School), Ty Dailey (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), Carson McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Deer Lakes), Kian Wiles (Hull, England/St. Mary's College), Cason Doolittle (Findlay, Ohio/Liberty Benton), Brendan Hill (Wayne, Ohio/Huber Heights), Drew Knieper (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion/Hope), Jake McEachern (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Comprehensive), Tajay Roberts (Sunrise, Fla./Dillard), and Gabe Singh (Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Northview/Oakland).
For the 2024-25 academic year, six student-athletes – Codyre, Emin, McCoy, Musta, Wiles, and Zaro earned the award for the cross country season, along with both the indoor and outdoor track & field campaigns.
Moreover, 14 of the 15 honorees from the women's team also made the list in the 2024-25 indoor season while all 10 of the men's Indoor Academic All-MAC runners made the cut for the outdoor ledger.
