YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Caterina Don
, an assistant coach for the Eastern Michigan University women's golf program, is set to compete at the 2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur, which will take place in Augusta, Ga., April 2-5, and features another strong field of the top amateurs from around the world. The event, which began in 2019 and is entering its sixth edition, will see the final round played on famed Augusta National, the home of the Masters Tournament.

"I am super excited for this amazing opportunity," Don said. "I haven't been preparing as I would have had while I was in college, but I have been able to get some reps in during the days off and in between practices with the Eagles. The most important thing will be to remember all the good memories from past events and be kind to myself. I do not know what to expect from my game as I haven't competed in almost one year, but I do know I will give 100% of what I have."

Don will play against 71 of the top women's amateurs from around the world in an event that will feature 49 of the top 50 players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and three past champions: Tsubasa Kajitani (2021), Anna Davis (2022) and Lottie Woad (2024). There will be 33 players making their debut and 39 returning competitors. A 2024 graduate of the University of Georgia under current EMU Head Coach Josh Brewer, who also will serve as her caddie in the tournament, Don will make her third appearance in the event after tying for 25th (227, +11) in 2021 and tying for 12th (218, +2) in the inaugural 2019 event.

Don enters the tournament ranked No. 36 in the latest WAGR (March 26), holds a lifetime best of No. 33, and will look to make the final round for the third time. The tournament opens April 2 with one round played on nearby Champions Retreat Golf Club with April 3 seeing rounds two and three played on the same course with the top 30 making the cut to Sunday's final. The opening 36 holes will be played on the Island and Bluff Courses at Champions Retreat Golf Club. The Island nine is an Arnold Palmer design and will serve as the first nine, while the Bluff nine, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is the second nine. All players will participate in a practice round on Augusta National, April 4, before the top 30 (including ties) compete in the final round on Augusta National.

Both Golf Channel and NBC will air live coverage of the event in the early afternoon each day. Official pairings and tee times will be announced April 1 on the tournament's website, ANWAgolf.com.
