JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished 10th at the Georgia State Invitational after Tuesday's final round was canceled due to severe weather conditions. Senior Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) was the team's top finisher, as she notched a 36-hole tally of 154 (78-76) to tie for 26th.
Troy won the event with a 593 (301-292) on the par 72, 6,095-yard Rivermont Golf Club, as Georgia State (599), Memphis (603), Murray State (612), App State (616), and Little Rock (616) rounded out the top-five places. Eastern Michigan fired rounds of 316 and 313 in the 16 team field.
How It Happened
Senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) finished in a tie for 41st with a 157 (80-77), while sophomore Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) tied for 55th at 157 (82-78).
Senior Sophia Wygonik (Westland, Mich./Livonia Franklin) and freshman Riley Kim (Aldie, Va./Lightridge) rounded out the scoring, with a 163 (76-87) and a 164 (82-82). Playing as an individual, Gabriella Tapp (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) added a 165 (79-86) in a tie for 75th.
