MUNCIE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team will hit the road for the penultimate away game of the 2023-24 season as it travels to Muncie, Ind., for an 11 a.m. Mid-American Conference meeting with Ball State University, who sits second in the MAC, Saturday, March 2, inside Worthen Arena. The Cardinals (24-4, 13-2 MAC) have already clinched a spot in the MAC Tournament, which will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, March 14-16, while the Eagles (6-20, 2-13 MAC) have officially been eliminated from postseason play following the 76-64 setback to Kent State Wednesday.

ON AIR
Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with a 1p.m. tip in Indiana. Fans can also follow the action via live stats at EMUEagles.com/livestats. Additionally, the team's official Twitter account, @EMUWBB, will provide score updates throughout the contest.

INSIDE THE CONTEST
With the 90th meeting upcoming, EMU boasts a 45-44 edge in the all-time series with Ball State, despite falling to the Cardinals earlier in the season. Additionally, the Eagles have bested the Cardinals in four of the last 10 meetings. A win Saturday would mark EMU's first over the Cardinals since Dec. 2, 2020, and would end a five-game lose streak to BSU. Since the road victory in 2020, EMU has only returned to Muncie once, a 92-58 loss inside Worthen Arena, March 5, 2022. The Eagles are 19-21 when playing in Muncie, Ind., in the all-time series history.

ROUND #2 WITH THE CARDINALS
EMU fought valiantly against the then-MAC leading Ball State, who held a clean 8-0 MAC record ahead of the contest, but ultimately fell, 75-50, Saturday, Jan. 27, inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center. The Eagles had two players score in double figures, led by Treasure Thompson, who had 14 points, six rebounds and two steals. Olivia Smith added 10 points and Tayra Eke added six points and 11 rebounds.
