Five Eagles convert 1.000 Free Throw Percentages in loss

MUNCIE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team was perfect from the free-point line, going 12-for-12 inside Worthen Arena in the 75-47 setback to number two in the Mid-American Conference, Ball State University Saturday morning, March 2.

The Eagles (6-21, 2-14) had two players score in double figures, led by Lachelle Austin (Redford, Mich./Wayne Memorial), who had 14 points. Kennedi Myles (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills/Illinois/Marquette) tacked on 11 points and eight rebounds and Tayra Eke (Madrid, Spain/IES Ortega y Gasset/LIU) added four points, nine rebounds and two blocks.

Myles pulled down three offensive rebounds to pace an offense that racked up second chance opportunities for Eastern Michigan, grabbing 11 boards and turning them into eight second chance points.

The Green and White's defense held Ball State to only 17.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

How It Happened
Eastern Michigan struggled out of the gate, falling behind 15-9 at the end of the first quarter.

The Eagles continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 30-20 halftime deficit.

EMU's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Eagles faced a 50-33 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. The Green and White took advantage of two Ball State turnovers in the quarter, scoring four points off of takeaways.
