Nusseibeh Announces 2026-27 Women's Hoops Non-Conference Slate

Eagles will play 14 non-conference games beginning Nov. 2

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University Women's Basketball Head Coach Sahar Nusseibeh announced the program's 2026-27 non-conference schedule Thursday, July 16.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 2, the Eagles will embark on a 14-game non-conference lineup that will see them travel to four different states and face opponents from 10 different conferences, including two games against the Big Ten Conference and one against the Southeastern Conference. All game times are to-be-announced.
The regular season officially begins Nov. 2, as Eastern is scheduled to compete in the MAC-SBC Challenge, beginning with a home game against Appalachian State, whom Eastern will play for the first time in program history.
The Eagles will then hit the road as the next six contests will be played away from Ypsilanti. The road trip begins Thursday, Nov. 5, with power-conference foe, Purdue. Following the Boilermakers is the Robert Morris Colonials in Pennsylvania Wednesday, Nov. 11. The Eagles will then make the nearly 400-mile trip west from Moon Township, Pa., to face the Kentucky Wildcats Sunday, Nov. 15.
The next three games of the long road trip include two games in Michigan, one will be Wednesday, Nov. 18, when the Eagles travel upstate to face Oakland of the Horizon League. Next on the slate is Butler, where the Eagles will travel to the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis Sunday, Nov. 22. Eastern will finish up the road trip in East Lansing, where it is scheduled to play the Michigan State Spartans Sunday, Nov. 29.
Following the six-game non-conference road stretch, EMU will welcome Canisus to the George Gervin GameAbove Center Sunday, Dec. 6, for a game against Nusseibeh's former institution. Eastern will head back to the Pittsburgh area Wednesday, Dec. 9, to face Duquesne on the road. EMU is back home Sunday, Dec. 13, as Valparaiso will visit Ypsilanti for the first time in 26 years.
The Eagles will be back in Indiana for the third time Friday, Dec. 18, to play Horizon League opponent, Purdue Fort Wayne.
Two home contests will follow as the Eagles will fly back to Ypsilanti for a battle against Defiance College Sunday, Dec. 20, before taking on NCAA Division II Davenport Tuesday, Dec. 29, in what will mark the final non-conference home game for EMU.
The non-conference finale will take place Saturday, Feb. 6, as EMU will travel to an SBC school in the final game of the MAC-SBC Challenge.
