LAKE WORTH, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) fired a 75 in the final round of the Atlantic Invitational Tuesday, Feb. 13, to claim a tie for seventh with a 222 (74-73-75). It is the 10th time in her career she has finished a tournament inside the top-10, most recently doing so at the Shirley Spork Invitational, Oct. 2-3, 2023.
Arkansas State won the event with an 862 (284-290-288) on the par 71, 6,005-yard Fountains Country Club setup, as Quinnipiac (897), Marshall (899), Keiser (909), and Illinois State (913) rounded out the top-five places.
How It Happened
Behind Watson, senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) tied for 24th with a 234 (77-77-80). Freshman Gabriella Tapp (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) posted rounds of 85, 78, and 74 to tie for 29th with a 237, while classmate Riley Kim (Aldie, Va./Lightridge) finished 31st with a 239 (75-88-76). Junior Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario/Tommy Douglas Secondary School) rounded out the scoring, with a 246 (88-77-81).
Making her EMU debut, junior Grace Halcrow (Richmond Hill, Ontario/Bill Crothers Secondary/Simon Fraser/Glenville State) notched a 242 (83-80-79). Also playing as an individual, senior Paige Zolciak (Perrysburg, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) was placed 40th with a two-day total of 257 (87-84-86).
