White Sands Invitational Awaits EMU Women's Golf

NASSAU, Bahamas (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team wraps up its fall slate with a trip to the islands of the Bahamas to participate in the White Sands Invitational Oct. 27-29. For the fourth year, the annual golf tournament will be played at the Ocean Club Golf Course located on Atlantis' Paradise Island. The tournament was previously played in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
The women's teams entered are Charlotte, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Grand Canyon, Kansas State, North Florida, Santa Clara, Tampa, Troy and Tulane.
Eastern Michigan will have five golfers in action led by senior Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland), senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand/The Regent's International School), senior Sophia Wygonik (Westland, Mich./Livonia Franklin), junior Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario/Tommy Douglas Secondary School), and senior Paige Zolciak (Perrysburg, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy.
This marks Eastern Michigan's first appearance in the tournament.

Texas, Campbell, and Lipscomb are the past women's winners over the 6,415-yard layout designed by past major champion Tom Weiskopf.
