Watson, Wygonik Earn WGCA All-American Scholar Accolades

Watson collected the honor for the second time, while Wygonik grabbed the accolade for the first time

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) — Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) and Sophia Wygonik (Westland, Mich.-Livonia Franklin) were honored as Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars, the WGCA announced today, July 5. It marks the 16th consecutive year that EMU has had multiple student-athletes highlighted by the organization.
With one of the most stringent criteria in college athletics, the All-American Scholar Team has a minimum requirement of a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Overall, a total of 1,485 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with the prestigious honor.
It is the second career All-American Scholar honor from the WGCA for Watson and the first for Wygonik.
The pair previously collected Academic conference accolades from the Mid-American Conference.
