ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team competed at the University of Michigan's quad exhibition this afternoon, Dec. 10, inside the Crisler Center. The Eagles earned a 190.200 team score for fourth place behind the University of Michigan (196.400), Central Michigan University (195.875), and Western Michigan University (193.550).
How It Happened
Eastern started the afternoon on beam, finishing the event with a 47.675 score. Freshman Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla.-Park Vista) led the Eagles on the apparatus with a 9.800.
The Green and White's second rotation took the team to the floor where Lowe led the event once again with a 9.600. The Eagles earned a total score of 46.675 for a running score of 94.350. Senior Hadyn Crossen (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel) and junior Trinity Macy (Rowlett, Texas -Texas Connections Academy-Pittsburgh) both notched 9.550 scores in the event as well.
EMU's third rotation earned the team a 46.850 score on vault. Senior Molly Parris (Hudson, Ohio-Hudson) led Eastern in the event, scoring a 9.625 on the apparatus. Junior Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn.-Park Center) also earned a 9.500 on vault. The team finished its third rotation with a 141.200 running score.
The Eagles finished up the meet on bars with a 49.000 score, the best event score of the afternoon for Eastern. Lowe continued her dominance on bars, recording the highest score of the meet for the Green and White at 9.850. After the fourth and final rotation, EMU completed the meet with a 190.200 team score.
