Men's Golf Readies for Purdue Fall Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team makes its first of two trips to western Indiana, this time participating in the Purdue Fall Invitational, Oct. 11-12. Competition will take place on at the Kampen Course, a par 72 course with a total distance of 7,415 yards. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
The tournament will host 12 teams, including: Ball State, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Illinois State, Kent State, Marquette, Miami, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Purdue, Toledo .
EMU will again tackle the field in West Lafayette in the spring, playing in the annual Boilermaker Invitational, April 9-10, 2022.
This will be the first time the Green and White have played in a fall event on the Purdue campus. Last spring, EMU closed out the Boilermaker Invitational by finishing 11th in a star-studded field at the Kampen Golf Course. Eastern shot a 298 in the final round to finish the tournament with a 886 (294-294-298). Kent State won the team title at 12-under-par 852, edging Illinois (854) by two strokes.
Senior Cougar Collins led EMU, as he notched his 15th career top-25 finish, tying for 23rd place at 219 (72-74-74). Collins posted a trio of birdies on the final day to finish with seven overall on the weekend.
