The Eagles were led by Robby Turnbull, who tied for 14th in the two-day tournament played at the Silverado CC & Resort - North Course in Napa, Calif.

As a team, the Eagles finished seventh at 6-over 858 (283-295-280) to post the 21st-lowest 54-hole score in program history. BYU ran away with the team title as the Cougars shot 54-under 810 while Santa Clara was the runner-up at 2-under 835. One of the players he tied with was teammate Tim Chan, who competed as an individual. Chan finished at 5-under 11 (73-70-68) to post his second-best score of the season behind only the 209 he carded at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 5-7).

LAST TIME OUT: THE GOODWIN
Eastern finished 28th overall at the 57th edition of The Goodwin, March 26-28, on the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif., as the Eagles, who faced a field featuring 26 teams ranked among the top 100 nationally, completed their second tournament of the week. Eastern was led by Leo Mihaich, who tied for 78th at 7-over 217. He used an even-par final round to climb 29 spots in the standings while the 217 strokes tied his season best with the Eagles after he also shot 217 earlier this week at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational in Napa, Calif.

TURNBULL HONORED AGAIN
Robby Turnbull earned his second MAC Golfer of the Week (March 27) accolade following his strong finish at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational (March 23-24). Turnbull was the top Eastern finisher as he tied for 14th at 5-under 211 (71-72-68) to post his second under-par tournament score this season. Turnbull rose 10 spots in the standings in the final round as he was 4-under on the day with four birdies and no bogies. He also was 5-under over his final 21 holes of the tournament. He was first honored this year (Feb. 19) after tying for sixth at the Hal Williams Collegiate.

FEELING HONORED
The weekly honor earned by Robby Turnbull (March 27) was his second of the season and the fifth for the team as Charlie Box earned three earlier this season. The five awards earned are the most in a single season since the records were kept starting in 2001-02, surpassing the four awards earned by the 2006-07, 2008-09, and 2021-22 teams. Turnbull and Box are two of 11 Eastern players to secure multiple weekly awards as Box is one of seven to have earned at least three in a career.

MEDALIST HONORS
The victory by Charlie Box at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 6-7) marked the first by an EMU player since the 2017-18 season when Beau Breault captured the Dayton Flyer Invitational, Oct. 16-17, 2017. Since the start of the 2000-01 season, nine different Eagles have combined to capture 15 titles with Box' win snapping a nearly eight-year long drought for the program in the winner's circle. The previous drought was three-and-one-half years as Kyle Rodes' victory at the Loyola Intercollegiate (Feb. 25-27, 2017) halted the streak following Stuart Grehan's win at the Firestone Invitational (Oct. 7-8, 2013).

GOOD TO BE BELOW AVERAGE
As a team, the Eagles currently hold a four-player average of 286.9, which is the lowest in program history by nearly 3.0 strokes, surpassing the previous record of 289.1 set in 2018-19. As it stands, this year's team average, should it hold, would be one of just two to finish below 290 as the 2016-17 team broke the record with its 290.4 average (9,875 strokes, 34 rounds).

LOGGING MILES
The Eagles will once again spread their wings and play in tournaments in 11 different states in 2025-26, including five of the six time zones across the United States. In the fall, Eastern is set to play in tournaments in Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Michigan, and New Mexico before taking part in events in Alabama, California, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, and Texas during the spring season.

ON THE HORIZON
Eastern will travel to Dublin, Ohio, April 20, to take part in the single-round Muirfield Shootout, hosted by Miami University, at the Country Club of Muirfield Village. The course is home to the annual Memorial Tournament, hosted by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year (June 4-7). The event will be the Eagles' final tune up before heading to the Mid-American Conference Championships, May 3-5, at Holiday Farms Country Club in Zionsville, Ind.
