Eagles Conclude Regular Season at EMU Fall Classic

Joe Ingram posts EMU's best time at home meet for second straight year

DEXTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's cross country team finished its regular season slate as it hosted the EMU Fall Classic Friday, Oct. 25 at Hudson Mills Metropark.

"A beautiful fall afternoon for our annual event brought to fruition by a great crowd of alums who came out and supported the team," said head coach John Goodridge following the meet. "That is part of our tradition."  

Sophomore Joe Ingram (Cincinnati, Ohio-Anderson) recorded the Green and White's best time in the 5K event for the second consecutive season, finishing in 18th place with a time of 15:55.1. Junior Ian Cook (Worthington, Ohio-Thomas Worthington) clocked in at 16:31.3 for 34th spot, while sophomore Ronald Brandal (Huron, Ohio-Huron) competed as an unattached runner and placed 42nd with a time of 16:56.2.

Additionally, a half-dozen EMU alumni took part in the annual race, as Abel Flores, Caleb Hess, John Knox, Mitch Lenneman, Kevin Naughton, and Cameron Trinh returned to their former stomping ground.

Eastern now turns its attention to the postseason, as the Mid-American Conference Championship takes place in DeKalb, Ill., Nov. 2. The Eagles have won 22 MAC titles in their storied history, including 12 over the last 14 seasons.
