YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team is set to host its first meet of the season against Mid-American Conference adversary Ball State University, Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Convocation Center. The action is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
    EMU is rolling off a season-high performance against Northern Illinois University and Western Michigan University at the NIU Triangular, Friday, Jan. 18. The Green and White finished second with a score of 194.300 and saw sophomore Jada Rondeau top three of four events and the all-around competition.

LAST TIME OUT: Eastern took second place at the NIU Triangular, besting Western Michigan 194.300-192.000, while falling to host-Northern Illinois 194.675-194.300. 
    The Eagles were led by sophomore Jada Rondeau and her three career-best performances in vault (9.800), floor (9.875), and all-around (39.000). Freshmen Shannon Gregory and Caitlin Satler also saw career-best scores on floor with 9.775 and 9.750, respectively. EMU's stellar floor performance, 49.100, was a season-high for the Green and White, and was helped by junior Emili Dobronics and senior Ciara Gresham's 9.850s. 

REDHOT RONDEAU: Sophomore Jada Rondeau dominated the competition at the NIU Triangular, finishing first in vault (9.800), bars (9.825), floor (9.875), and all around (39.000). Her performances on vault, floor, and all around were the best of her career,  and helped the team reach a season-high floor score (49.100), and season-high team score (194.300). The last gymnast to win three of four events was former Eagle Catie Conrad, topping bars, beam, and floor at the Mid-American Conference championships in 2017. 
 
CONTINUING TO CLIMB:  Freshmen Shannon Gregory and Caitlin Satler are continuing to give the Eagles a boost, as they both posted career-high numbers on floor at the NIU Triangular with scores of 9.775 and 9.750, respectively. Both Gregory and Satler posted 9.650 on floor in their first collegiate competition at the Pitt Quad. 

IN RECENT HISTORY: The Green and White have faired well against Ball State since 2009, going 6-4 in that time, and currently holding a five-meet win streak. 
    Last year's victory over the Cardinals, 194.225-191.50, was highlighted by the Eagles winning three of the four events, and then-freshman Jada Rondeau claiming the top spots in vault and floor with scores of 9.725 and 9.85, respectively. Rondeau was also helped out by former teammates Lacey Rubin and Kendall Valentin placing first and second on bars with scores of 9.85 and 9.825, respectively. 

LOOKING AHEAD: Eastern will welcome Bowling Green State University to the Convocation Center, finishing off back-to-back home meets, Thursday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. EMU looks for revenge after last seasons, 195.950-193.950 loss. Look for the action on ESPN3.
