The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team finished second against a pair of Mid-American Conference foes at the NIU Triangular Friday night, Jan. 18, inside NIU's Convocation Center. The Eagles posted season-best scores on floor (49.100) and bars (48.600) to take second-place with a score of season-high 194.300. "Our goal is always to hit 24-for-24 routines and we succeeded with that tonight," Head Coach Katie Minasola said. "I am very proud of how the team competed tonight. Our floor performance was very fun and exciting, you could feel the energy coming from the team which helped us finish strong on vault. We are looking forward to building off this meet."

Competing all-around, sophomore Jada Rondeau (Norwood Young America, Minn.-Central) turned in an exceptional night that included a trio of career-bests. Stevens) and Caitlin Satler's (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) who scored 9.775 and  9.750, respectively.

The Eagles' season-best 48.600 showing on bars was highlighted by another career-high from Rondeau as the sophomore once again topped the standings with a 9.825. Sophomore Cortney Bezold (Maineville, Ohio-Bishop Fenwick) added a 9.725, while senior Carly Clark (White Lake, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern) and Doboronics each scored a 9.700.

Rondeau picked up her third win of the night on vault, where she recorded a career-best 9.800 as Eastern scored a 48.725. Behind Rondeau, senior Megan Hultgren (Rockford, Ill.-Sacred Heart Classical Center) and Dobronics registered 9.750's to tie for third.
