Men's Swimming & Diving Wraps Up Day One of Ohio State Invitational

Three Eagles posted career-bests on the day

COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - A trio of personal-bests led the Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team to a strong showing on day one of the Ohio State Invitational, Feb. 13. In total, the Green and White registered four top-three finishes.
A pair of career-bests highlighted junior Kevin Moore's (Phoenix, Ariz.-Boulder Creek) day one performance. After a personal-best time in the 100 Freestyle gave Moore a sixth-place finish, the Phoenix, Ariz. native claimed third-place in the 100 Butterfly. With a preliminary time of 49.58, Moore shaved just enough off to outreach Ohio State's George Pappas with a time of 49.42.
Moore also swam the third leg of the Eagles third-place 200 Medley Relay team.
Sophomore Hunter Cook (Hilliard, Ohio-Hilliard Darby) turned in a top-three finish in the 400 Individual Medley. After turning in a time of 4:03.11 in the preliminaries, Cook clocked in with a time of 3:56.98. His time shattered his previous personal-best by nearly three seconds.
Junior Conner Finnigan (Indianapolis, Ind.-Warren Central) posted the Eagles top finish of the day, finishing runner-up in the 100 Breaststroke. Finnigan cut down on his prelim time to claim second with a career-best time of 55.87.
