Eagles will honor 10 seniors before the meet
Meet Notes
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's men's swimming and diving team is set to close out the 2014-15 dual season with a matchup against the Miami University RedHawks Saturday, Jan. 31 inside the friendly confines of Jones Natatorium.
The meet marks the final competition at Jones Natatorium for a group of 10 seniors. Prior to the meet, the team will honor a group that has impacted the team during their four years as Eagles, including: Mike Fisher (breaststroke), Dakoda Johnson (diving), Brian Moore (freestyle), Franco Petrone (distance), Nate Schingoethe (backstroke), Axel Schmitter-Sanchez (butterfly/freestyle), Grant Schwarz (breaststroke), Sage Stephens (diving), Sean Tento (distance/IM), and Matt Ventura (diving).
Saturday's dual will also be the final Mid-American Conference matchup. The Eagles are riding a 67-MAC dual winning streak going into the contest, dating back to the 1997-98 season. The Green and White is sitting pretty with a 33-11 all-time record against the RedHawks, and has won the past 17 matchups. Since Head Coach Peter Linn took the reins of the program in the 1988-89 season, the Eagls have dropped just two contests to Miami.
The meet is slated to begin at 1 p.m., with the Senior Day ceremony preceding the contest. Live results will be available through EMUEagles.com.
