NAPLES, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team is in seventh place after two rounds at the Talis Park Challenge Sunday, March 16. The Eagles shot a 35-over par 611 (305-306) on the par 72, 7,025-yard Talis Park Golf Club course. The final round is set to start at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 17.
Freshman Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) led the Eagles on Sunday, sitting in a tie for 19th, after shooting a 150 (77-73). Sophomore Brett White (Caledonia, Mich.-East Kentwood) is tied for 23rd with a seven-over par 151 (77-74). Senior Brian Churchill-Smith (Oakville, Ontario, Canada-Oakville Trafalgar) shot a 76 and a 78 to tie for 39th at 155. Also in the lineup for EMU, junior Michael Blair (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada-Nelson-Pfeiffer) is tied for 61st with a 162 (75-87) and freshman Joey Kremer (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Senator O'Connor) is tied for 70th at 164 (83-81).
Vanderbilt is atop the leaderboard after 36 holes with a four-under par 572 (283-289), and is 20-shots ahead of Wichita State. The Commodores' Charlie Ewing is first individually at three-under par 141 (71-70).
