Women’s Golf Wraps Up the Fall Campaign in the Palmetto State

CHARLESTON, S.C. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team closes its fall season Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 26-28, when the Eagles travel to south for the Palmetto Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole event hosted by the College of Charleston will be played at the Turtle Point Golf Course on Kiawah Island, S.C..
The tournament, which began in 1999, will be played in a 5-count-4 format with the course set up for a par 72, 5,972 yards.
The Palmetto Intercollegiate will feature a 20-team field, including Campbell, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, the College of Charleston, East Tennessee State, EMU, Elon, Furman, Georiga Southern, GRU Augusta, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Kansas, Kansas State, Maryland, North Carolina-Greensboro, South Florida, Western Carolina and Xavier.
Last year, the Eagles shot a cumulative total of 935 (310-319-306) for 15th place, four strokes ahead of cross-county rival Michigan (306-319-306=939). Kansas, which finished with a score of 876 (297-295-284), returns as the defending tournament champion.
