KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior women's golfer Lois Schoof (Amsterdam, Netherlands-Univ. of Amsterdam) posted a career-low 70 to hold down a tie for fourth-place after the opening round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Turtle Point Golf Course, Oct. 26. The Eagles are in sixth place as a team, fourth strokes behind No. 42 Kansas State University in fifth.

Coastal Carolina University leads the tournament at 282 while No. 30  Furman University is in second at 285.  GRU Augusta's Eunice Yi  and CCU's Lena Schaeffner are tied for the individual lead with a four-under 68.

Freshman Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) is tied for 34th-place with a 75, while classmate Kylie Raines (Dublin, Ohio-Dublin Coffman) resides in a tie for 58th-place with a 78. Sophomore Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) is tied for 67th with a 79. Redshirt-junior Lauren Stephens (Dublin, Ohio-Coffman-Toledo) rounded out the lineup with an 85 in 97th-place.

Play resumes on Monday, Oct. 27, at 10:28 a.m. on the 10th hole.
