Eagle won her second collegiate title as medalist at season-opening Leadership & Golf Invite

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly award winners for women's golf with Eastern Michigan University fourth-year player Savannah de Bock being voted the MAC Golfer of the Week, the conference announced today, Sept. 18. The award marked the third in de Bock's career after she was twice recognized during the 2024-25 season.

De Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) led the charge for an Eastern Michigan sweep at the 2026 Leadership & Golf Invitational, Sept. 14-15, at Chambers Bay outside of Seattle, as she finished as the medalist by one stroke after shooting 7-under 209. Only the eighth player in program history to win multiple titles for the Eagles, de Bock, the 2024 Golfweek Red Sky Classic winner, used a barrage of birdies on the final day to shoot 4-under 68 and move from fifth into the winner's circle as EMU successfully defended the team title it won at Chambers Bay one year prior. Her score tied for the third-lowest in program history and gave her four of the top five marks in the EMU record books as she helped the team to its 13th all-time sweep and fourth in the past calendar year. She led the team to a 1-under 863 score, which ranked sixth in the program's history and helped Eastern finish ahead of six teams that competed in the 2026 NCAA Regional competitions, including Oregon State and SMU, who reached the national event in May. Overall, de Bock secured the 28th individual title in program history while the team secured its 31st.

Since Head Coach Josh Brewer took over the program at the start of the 2024-25 season, Eastern has received 13 MAC Golfer of the Week accolades with four players having earned three awards, including de Bock and the trio of Janae Leovao, Jasmine Leovao, and Baiyok Sukterm (Bang Yi, Thailand/Panitchayakan Rajdamnern Tech/Lindsey Wilson), who each garnered three awards last year. Riley Kim was honored during the 2024-25 campaign as well.
