YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Senior Jacob Hanson has been selected to represent Eastern Michigan University at the 2013 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.  Hanson is one of only 235 swimmers from across the country to qualify for the NCAA Division 1 Championship competition.  The swimming finale will take place March 28-30 in the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Hanson is scheduled to compete in the 100 yard backstroke, 200 yard backstroke and the 200 yard individual medley. His career best times for those events are; 46.66 for the 100 yard backstroke, 1:41.19 for the 200 yard backstroke and 1:45.21 in the 200 yard individual medley.

A native of Bloomington, Illinois and criminology major, Hanson has amassed an impressive collection of accolades during his tenure at EMU. The backstroke specialist was named to CollegeSwimming.com's 2012 Mid-Major All-American First Team and qualified for 2012 U.S. Olympic time trials. Hanson has twice been given the distinguished title of Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Year, winning the award in 2011 and 2012, and has been named to the Mid-American Conference First Team in each of his four years of eligibility.

ESPN3.com will stream finals sessions Friday and Saturday live. Additionally, ESPNU will air a 90-minute show at 7 p.m.  on Wednesday, April 10.
