Eagles will play in tournament for sixth straight year

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team will travel south to compete in the University of Arkansas Little Rock Women's Golf Classic in Hot Spring, Ark., March 25-26. This will be the sixth consecutive year that the Eagles have played in the tournament.

The tournament will take place at the par 72 Diamante Country Club, known as one of the top courses in the state of Arkansas. The club hosted a Web.com (formally Nationwide) Tour for four years and has been named the top course in Arkansas by Golf Digest  on various occasions.

 Other participating schools aside from EMU and UALR include: Arkansas State, Ball State, Central Arkansas, Middle Tennessee, UMKC, Missouri State, North Texas, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, TAMUCC, South Alabama, UTEP and Wichita State. UTEP enters as the defending the champions, posting a mark of 897 a season ago.

The Eagles placed in a tie for third at last year's tournament, posting a score of 899. After residing in eighth place after day one, the Eagles turned in a third-round score of 292 to finish with a total of 899 in a tie for third place with Middle Tennessee State, just two strokes off of the winning score.
