COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team completed its action at the Ohio State University Winter Invitational Sunday, Feb. 10. Eastern saw multiple top-five finishes in the competitive field on Sunday.
Frankie DeMaria posted a fourth place in the 200-freestyle with a 1:43.34 and Nate Schingoethe also earned a second place finish in the 200-backstroke, touching the wall in 1:54.08. Austin Burtch took fourth in the 200-backstroke in 2:00.20 and Daniel Proctor placed third in the 200-breaststroke with a 2:05.24. Aaron Lawson had the best finish with a 1:51.74 in the 200-butterfly, good for second, while Schingoethe's 1:54.25 in the 200-individual medley was good for second as well. DeMaria also took third in the 1,650-freestyle in 15:59.21.
The Eagles are out of competition until the Mid-American Conference Championships, March 7-9, in Carbondale, Ill.
