Eagles Complete Day One at U-M's First Chance Meet

Eastern had six student-athletes compete Saturday

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving squad sent a select few student-athletes to the 2013 First Chance Meet, hosted by the University of Michigan this weekend, Feb. 16-17. The Eagles had six members of its team compete in Saturday's action.

Tyler Capen was the first of EMU's shortened squad to compete. Capen completed the 200-individual medley in 1:53.95, good for fifth place, while Nate Schingoethe touched the wall in 1:57.06 to take seventh. Capen and Schingoethe also completed the 100-backstroke where Capen took third (51.78) and Schingoethe placed fourth (52.45).

Brad Lebling earned a fourth place finish in the 50-freestyle with a 21.33 and Dylan Crompton completed the distance in 22.50, good for seventh. Aaron Lawson took third in the 100-butterfly with a 52.04 and Daniel Proctor used a 58.74 finish in the 100-breaststroke to take fifth.

The Eagles continue competition at the First Chance Meet Sunday, Feb. 17. Action begins at noon.
