EMU will take on UC Davis and Sacramento State in Davis, Calif.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Following a third place finish at the Stanford Invitational, Feb. 28, the Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team wraps up its trip to the Golden State Friday, March 5, for the University of California Davis Invitational at 7 p.m. (PST). The Eagles are scheduled to take on UC Davis Aggies and the Sacramento State University Hornets.

LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles finished in third place with a team score of 190.125 at the Stanford Invitational, Feb. 28, falling to No. 6 rankedStanford and the University of North Carolina, but topping the University of California (188.825). The Eagles move to 3-7 this season with the lone victory.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Eagles compete at home just one more time this season following Friday's contest at UC Davis. The team will host the Eagle Invitational, March 13, when WMU, Northern Illinois and Seattle Pacific invade Bowen Field House. It also marks the team's Pink Meet in which members of the gymnastics team have raised nearly $5,000 for breast cancer research.

ALL-AROUND PERFORMER: True freshman Kaylyn Millick (Washington, Pa.-Trinity) continued to put up high marks at the Stanford Invitational, Feb. 28, as her performance on the balance beam earned her a 9.650, and a tie for second place.  Millick also carded a 9.675 on the vault, 9.575 on the bars, and a 9.675 in the floor exercise.  Millick had the best all-around score for the Green and White, finishing fourth overall with a 38.575.

FLOORED BY HER PERFORMANCE: Sophomore Stacie Wood (Brantford, Ontario-Brantford Collegiate Inst.) showed why she was a 2009 regional alternate selection in the floor exercise, as she carded a season-best 9.750 in the event at the Stanford Invitational, Feb. 28. Her career-best floor exercise mark is a 9.800, set at last year's Eagle Invitational.

AWARD WINNING EAGLE: Senior Erin Grigg (North Bay, Ontario-Widdifield) was named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week after leading the Eagles to a home victory over Western Michigan University, Feb. 13. It marks Grigg's first MAC Gymnast of the Week award in her four-year career and her fourth overall league accolade (MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week twice and Academic All-MAC in 2009).

MAC CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS TO "THE HOUSE THAT ROARS": The 2010 Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Championship will take place March 27 at Anderson Arena in Bowling Green, Ohio. It will mark EMU's second trip to Anderson Arena this season, as the team dropped a Feb. 21 contest to the Falcons inside the House that Roars.

BEAMING WITH CONFIDENCE: Sophomore Tracie Tamashiro (Honolulu, Hawaii-Kalani) carded a career-best mark 9.675 on the apparatus to finish third behind Millick and the Falcons' Breanne Guy on the balance beam against BGSU, Feb. 21.

SO FAR, SO GOOD: In six meets this season, the Eagles are averaging over 190 points per-competition. The team's highest score so far this season came last week against Bowling Green when the Eagles posted a 191.875 in a loss to the Falcons. EMU's 188.200 score in the victory against WMU, Feb. 13, marks the Eagles' lowest output of the season.
