Eagles and Wolverines Come Together in Relay Meet Saturday

Both squads were divided into two integrated teams to form a fun relay meet at Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team competed with the U-M men in an uncharacteristic relay meet that saw the two schools come together to form two separate, but integrated teams. In the end, the Blue and White defeated the Maize and Green, 122-120, at Canham Natatorium on the campus of U-M Saturday, Jan. 16.
This was the second consecutive year that the Eagles and Wolverines combined to partake in such a fascinating meet that brings both Washtenaw County rivals together. The 400-yard freestyle relay was the lone event normally seen in regular season meets. Nine other relays consisted of the 8x50-yard medley, 6x200-yard freestyle and 6x50-yard butterfly relays, to name a few.
The Eagles will be back in action next weekend when they host Wayne State Friday and Ball State Saturday, Jan. 22-23, at Jones Natatorium. Events are slated to begin at 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
