Jim Grewe is in his fourth season as the goalkeeping coach for the Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team. Prior to that, Grewe was an assistant coach at Detroit Catholic Central High School from 2001-03. He was also the starting goalkeeper for two years at the University of Detroit-Mercy. Currently, Grewe is the director of goalkeeing for the Novi Jaguars Soccer Club.

Grewe was the net-minder in nine games for Detroit in 1997, his first year of starting action for the Titans. Grewe made 50 saves in his inaugural college season and posted a 2.16 goals-against-average. His first collegiate win was versus Michigan State in Detroit’s first-ever win in East Lansing.

Grewe started 10 games at goalkeeper and forward in 1998, posting a 1-3-1 record as the Titans’ net minder with a 2.26 goals against average. As a senior, Grewe played in 11 games and compiled a 3.34 GAA.

Grewe is a native of Livonia, Mich., and in 1995, led Livonia Stevenson to the regional finals as the team’s starting goalkeeper. In his junior and senior campaigns, Grewe was an All-Conference, All-Area, All-Region and All-State honoree. In his senior year, Grewe posted a 0.50 GAA with 12 shutouts. For his career, Grewe recorded 42 wins and 27 career shutouts.

Grewe earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Detroit in 2005. He is single and resides in Ann Arbor.
