EMU: Currently holds the best career scoring average in school-history at 76.73 in 99 all-time rounds played...2016-17: Qualified for the 2016 USGA Women’s Amateur Championship after winning the  event qualifier with a 67 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, June 27...2015-16: Earned Second Team All-MAC honors...Selected a Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar as well as 2016 Academic All-MAC Team honoree...Season scoring average was the best in program history at 74.74…Finished 0.22 ahead of Catherine Fortin’s previous standard of 74.96 set in 2007-08…Had a season low of 66 in the final round of the Cardinal Classic…Her 66 was the lowest round in school history en route to medalist honors with a career-best 211 (74-71-66) at the Cardinal Classic...The individual title was the second of her career...Record-setting 66 bested the previous EMU mark of 67 set by Catherine Fortin at the Rocket Fall Classic, Sept. 24, 2005, while the 211 was three strokes better than the previous standard of 214…Finished inside the top 25 in every event, including three top 10 showings…Tied for eighth at the Little Rock Classic with a 221 (80-71-70) while taking ninth at the 3M Augusta Invitational with a 216 (70-71-75)…Posted eight rounds of par-or-better this season…Ranked sixth in the MAC in stroke average after shaving more than a stroke per 18 off her total from last year…2014-15: In 23 rounds, averaged 76.13...Had a season low of 68 in the final round of the Nittany Lion Invitational... Rallied from nine strokes back in the final round of the Nittany Lion Invitational to leapfrog the rest of the field to capture medalist honors with a career-best 218 (77-73-68)...Notched five birdies during the round for the lowest 18-hole round of her career...Her blistering score of 68 is tied for the second lowest single-round tally in program history, as she joins Catherine Fortin (2004-08) as the only other Eagle to record a sub-69...The individual title was not only the first of her career and also the first by an Eagle since Sarah Johnson finished tied for the top spot at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Oct. 30-31, 2012, in Wahuawa, Hawai’i...For her effort, was named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar Athlete of the Week...Tied for seventh at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate with a 229 (79-75-75)...Finished 15th at the Red Rocks Invitational with a 151 (72-79) while tying for 18th at the Cardinal Classic with a 153 (80-73)...2013-14: Selected Second Team All-MAC while also being named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association Collegiate Golf All-American Scholars list...Appeared in 34 rounds of golf in her freshman season, averaging 77.03 strokes which was the best of any EMU golfer...Tied for second place at the Bowling Green Falcon Invitational (April 12-13) with a 152 (75-77) and placed third at The Preview (Oct. 7-8) shooting matching 76s in the two round event...Notched four top-20 finishes in her freshman campaign, tying for 11th at the UNCW Seahawk Classic (April 5-6) after tying for 14th overall at the Mary Fossum Invitational with a 226 (74-75-77)...She placed 13th at the Rio Verde Invitational (March 7-9) to lead the Eagles to a seventh-place finish...Shot a career-best 220 at the Westbrook Spring Invitational with matching 75s in the first two rounds before carding her best round score of 70 in the third round for a 220 total on the 72-par course and finish in a tie for 33rd overall...Became the first EMU freshman since Catherine Fortin to lead the squad in scoring during the opening tournament of the season...HIGH SCHOOL: One of the most decorated high school students-athletes in southeastern Michigan...Despite having only played golf for the past five years, she won the Division 1 individual title in October 2012 by one stroke with a two-day total of 148 (73-75) and led her team to the first team state title of any sport in school history...Has piled up medals and accolades throughout her career including being a 1.1 handicap, twice crowned the regional champion and a three times the conference champion...A three time All-State Super Team member and an All-State member for one year...Finished inside the top-20 at the 2010 Optimist Internationals...In 2011 she was the Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) Junior Amateur runner-up...After setting the high school record with a three-under 69, finished in the top eight of the GAM’s 2012 Women’s Amateur...PERSONAL: Full Name: Kelsey Elise Murphy...Daughter of Timothy and Ruth Murphy...Has one sister, Sydney...Major: Nursing.
